Nicole by Opi : Ladies in the Limelight & Make Mine Lime

When I saw that there was a sale at Qoo10 for nail polishes, I knew I was going to purchase at least 1-2 bottles. :P

Since most of the colours that I want are sold out, I decide to get 2 colours that I would seldom try. :P This was easy with the help of my nail polish display rack. hahas. It's that obvious that I'm not a huge fan of yellows colour. :P

Overall a good experience. Delivery is fast. Item came with 2 layers of bubblewrap.
Product is a little thin but colours does show well in 3 coats. I tried it immediately after receiving, with Opi's servin up Sparkle on top and it's gorgeous.

My First Neon Orange Nail Polish

Received China Glaze's Neon Orange nail polish in my Bella Box for August and decide to test it out with Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails as base (which I received in my May Bella Box). Maybe orange's just not for me, the colour's a little too bright for my liking. :(

Comparing SH's Hard as Nails to the normal base coat I use, I still prefer my normal base coat. Don't really see the "hardener" effect. My nails still felt like it's going to break all the time. :(

Comparing China Glaze Neon colour to my other China Glaze colour, it seems that Neon's a tiny bit thicker, would prefer pastel colours or glittery ones. :D

Used OPI Silver Shatter on top of the Neon Orange and it instantly makes it less "刺眼" imo, should have tried black shatter though. :p

Nail Addict Journal 29/Dec

Notice sometimes we purchase similar nail colours without realizing it? What you see on the bottle might not show the actual colour that will be on your nails.. Which is why I like to see people posting photos of swatches. :D

Today I'm going to show some of the common colours that I own and hopefully will ease your pain of trying to get the colour you want. :)

1. The Noticeable Pink Battle
China Glaze's Dance Baby Vs OPI's Sparrow Me the Drama

Dance Baby's pops up more, Sparrow Me the Drama's more pastel.

2. The Blue Greens Battle
OPI's Mermaid's Tears Vs China Glaze's Kinetic Candy Vs China Glaze's For Audrey

Mermaid's Tears's more of greyish kind of green, Kinetic Candy's more light bluish, For Audrey's quite close to Tiffany blue.

3. The Glitter's Battle
OPI's Servin' Up Sparkle Vs China Glaze's Techno Vs China Glaze's Fairy Dust

If you ask me, I would say Servin' Up Sparkle, Techno and Fairy Dust are pretty much same, only difference is that Fairy Dust doesn't have the holographic hexagonal pieces thingy and Servin' up Sparkle has more tiny glitters.

Servin' Up Sparkle - Holographic hexagonal pieces + more tiny glitters.
Techno - similar to Servin' up Sparkle but sightly lesser tiny glitters.
Fairy Dust - Only tiny holographic glitters.

If these doesn't help you make up your mind, maybe searching for more swatches will help you in making the choice. :D

Classic Manicure + Classic Pedicure @ only S$35!

A colleague's partner recently started her own home-based salon after a few years of experience. Since it's been a really long time since I've got my nails done, decide to pay her a visit one day after work to try out her service.

Other Nail Services like Nail Art, French Tips, Temporary Nail Tips Extension are available, do call to find out more. :)

PROs:
  • Use brands like OPI, not any cheapo brands!!
  • Massage strength is just nice, not too hard not too soft. :)
  • Remove cuticles well too, cause for the first time I actually didn't feel anything!
  • Good painting skills cause my nails are quite small so most people have problem painting my small nail, especially my little pinky.
  • AirCon is switched on the whole time. :D
  • Very friendly, we were hungry she actually gave us hot water to cook cup noodles which we bought from 7-11. :p
CONs:
  • She has 2 very young and cute puppies, those that doesn't like dogs might need to inform her in advance. If you like cute animals like me, this could be a PRO rather then Con. :D
  • Since it's home-based, don't expect the place to be spacious like normal shop salons..

Chosen this sweet light pink nails that's fit for any occasion. :)

Revision + Shopping + Big Belated Birthday Presents!

27 May 2009. Wednesday.
Chicky's Happy Day.

Revision:
Went to National Library to revise for fnb paper with Chermin and Reena.
The security there is tight one loh.. Went to the washroom for a few mins, come back and see this free door hanger on one of our tables. -.-''

Front.

Back.

Revised for half a day and I got tired and decide to go walk walk (aka shopping) a bit before meeting ShaXiaoMei and Sharon for lunch. Yes the same Sharon who is the taobao spree handler cum agent.

Those in Singapore should know the once a year Great Singapore Sale is back again!
Don't know if I suay or what, everytime during GSS, I'm always BROKE. -.-''

So I was walking around at Bugis Junction and I decide to walk into Watsons to see if there's anything that I want to buy that's on sale..

Shopping:

After much consideration and asking the beauty advisor a couple of questions, I decide to buy this Canmake nail glitter thingy. Been eyeing it for a few months le loh.. and I couldn't decide to get the pink glitter or the silver glitter, so I asked her which is easier to match loh. Hubby is so going to flip when he sees my glittery nails next week.

I'll apply it after my exams then I try to take photos k? ;)

After that, I happily took MRT to Tiong Bahru to wait for ShaXiaoMei..
I know! First time I wait for other people right? :p

And I finally manage to buy KO One DVD!
It was OOS in all the stores I went to for the past many months loh. -.-'
I'm so happy to see it that I immediately bought it.. :p

Belated Birthday Presents!

I got 2 presents.
The big one from ShaXiaoMei and the small chicky cup from Sharon. :)
Maybe you can't really tell what's the big one since it's being wrapped so tight..

It's Mumu!
I know it looks quite small on my bed but it's actually slight smaller than half of me.
I'm 145cm, mumu is 70cm loh!

Me and Mumu. :)

Uglyfatchick's First Spa Mani/Pedi :)

Did my first Spa Mani/Pedi yesterday to make full use of the birthday month promo 50% discount!

Normally if I want some pampering I would choose Classic Mani/Pedi.
Express Mani/Pedi is the cheapest, but because they dun remove all those stuffs around your nail (I think it's call cuticles) & those dead skin under you feet, the end result wouldn't be that nice loh..

Classic is a little more expensive but it's worth it if you have like an event to go to..
Eg. CNY, DnD, Birthday Party, Product Launch, Presentation, Photoshoot or any event that require you to meet lots of important clients and guest.. :)

Spa is the most expensive but if you enjoy having your hands and feet pampered, stuffed into heating gloves and socks, and end up with really smooth skin for the next 2-3 days.. Spa will be totally for you. :)

Normally they will serve you complimentary drinks so don't be shy and ask for water if you feel thirsty.. I'll usually ask for warm green tea or plain water. :)

This is some new colour from Opi I quite like it but it's a little light on my feet, maybe next time try this on fingers.. :)

I like this polish I think it's princess rocks or something.
Keep choosing this. :p
Sometime back in Feb I choose this when I did express Mani/Pedi..

Even though it's the same nail polish, if you compare the previous visit's picture and this you'll notice my nails looks nicer this time loh. :)

But my favourite would be the different colour one I did for CNY...
When I have another big event then I go do my nails again. :p

2 papers down 2 more to go.

Totally no confidence cause no matter how I tried to study also nothing much go into my brain. argh. Don't like it. :(

My Pet Society Kitchen.

Finally took out my eyelash extenstions yesterday and now they feel so much shorter. Almost non-existence :(

Reach there about 1 hour earlier than stated appointment time and decide to do express mani & pedi since promotion price at $18. Poor hubby waited more than a hour for me loh.

With Flash.

I think it looks better than in photo.
No photo of my smelly toes because I keep getting this ugly colour on my camera. :(

I prefer classic mani & pedi more, cause it makes me feel more pampered + I like it when they take out those dead skin stuffs.. But classic more expensive lah. During my birthday then do the classic one. Got 50% off. :p

Alright got to go prepare to go out.
Trying something new today. :)

Mani + Pedi for CNY 2009

It's the first year that I decide to do Mani + Pedi just for Chinese New Year.
Heck, I even did eyelash extension + hair rebonding for CNY this year!

It's one of those years that I actually put in effort and money to look pretty pretty de loh..
But till now I haven be able to get back the money I spent from my Ang Pows.
Hahas. Silly me. Overspend liao.

I love my nails. The base is actually white but it looks pink here cause the wall behind me is pink in colour...

Choose classic french for toes cause I want something simple.

I don't look very pretty in this photo but I put here anyway cause it shows the white base colour of my nails.

Yes, I'm happy with my nails. :)

I'm still trying to get used to camera without flash. :(

My nails are yummy. :p

My Christmas luck. :)

Meow.

Been meeting Hubby almost everyday since the day I fall really ill..
We've been eating so much good food that I secretly thinks that Hubby's trying to fatten me up to cook for CNY. :p

Mr and Mrs Chubby Cheeks.

Alright that's all for now.
New rule for 2009, school start earlier at 8.30am instead of 9am!!
Good luck to me! :p
5.5months more and I'm out of school, please let school life be more enjoyable. :p

Please let me study harder + slim down + grow prettier + grow taller + be happy + healthy.
