Review : Uniqlo.com/sg/

April was really month of shopping for me so do expect some review/shopping related posts for the next few weeks? :D

I own a top from Uniqlo and really love it, however I find that the items in the shops are often out of my budget (SAHM = not much budge to shop).

When I saw AIRism Tops on online exclusive sale I ordered a few for my family. :D

Item :
Kids AIRism U-neck Short Sleeve T-shirt, Men AIRism Crew Neck T-shirt (Short Sleeve) and Women AIRism Scoop Neck Short Sleeve T-shirt

Price : Kid's Tee $4.90, Men's Tee $12.90, Women's Tee $9.90 (exclusive sale price)
Bought 2 kid's tee, 2 women's tee, 1 men's tee and 1 legging pants for S$62.40 including free shipping!

Service Review :
Overall okay but the delivery service can be improved.

Ordered on 22nd April, receive confirmation and tracking code on 23rd April.
On 24th April delivery was unsuccessful, remarked "Delivery could not be completed due to inclement weather conditions". This I understand as it was raining quite a bit the whole month..
On 25th April, Delivery personnel did not deliver parcel, instead he/she left a notice at my gate! I know this because that morning my husband is at the kitchen fixing breakfast for me. He was at most 2metres away for the door and no one knocked or even press on the door bell! We saw the notice 2mins after he left it there! It's on a Saturday so I was forced to collect the parcel 2 days later (Monday 27th April).

Product Review :
All 3 of us, hubby, little one and myself love the tops! It's soft, very comfortable and really suitable to be worn at home or as a inner piece. It's stretchy and really feels cooler wearing it (awesome for the recent heat wave).

Would I recommend it? :
Yes I would. Especially their sale items! Value for money and the quality is really good. :D

Review : Memory Foam Mat

Yes, online shopping again~

Okay just a short story... The few times that I met the delivery man at the door as I leave my house [he was delivering things to my neighbour (whom I presume is also a online shop shopaholic like me.) :P] Instead of "hello" he would say "don't have your parcel" so that I can leave home without waiting to see if I have any parcels with him. :P

Item : Stripes Memory Foam Mat
Price : $5.30 each (additional charge for shipping)

Product Review :
I was using another mat that my mum bought and also the cheap Ikea one that I bought a long while ago.. Both didn't feel that good as it doesn't dry our feet well and feels rough on our feet. This foam mat is good. It's very soft and does it's job well. :D

Usage :
Open package, put mat on the floor with the softer part facing up. lol.

Bought 1 in beige and 1 in purple.

Beige matches the colours of my house.

Purple is really sweet looking. :D

Will I recommend it? :
Yes I will. Even though it's not cheap it's really comfortable so it's worth the price. I love how it feels under my feet. Every morning it makes me happy when I step on it before I step into the bathroom.

Review : Slap Chop

Item : Slap Chop / Chopper Machine
Price : $5.50 (Qoo10)

Service Review :
The items were sent out timely, received them in 2-3 days. Ordered on 1st April, received on 4th April.

Product Review :

Material :
Disappointed as it's flimsy, probably get what I paid for.
Should not have expected much for $5.50...
Size is slightly bigger than expected.

Usage :
Fairly easy to use but results not what I wanted.
Used it on smaller items like garlic and onion, they get stuck at the blades area..
Used it on bigger items like tomatoes and stuffs, they get stuck too. ><

Would I recommend it? :
No. It's a waste of money.

Review : Sweet & Spicy Topokki Hot Sauce

Item : Sweet & Spicy Topokki Hot Sauce
Price : $2.40 (NTUC Fairprice)

Product Review :
I've come across this on the shelf at NTUC many times but never though of purchasing it cause no one eating with me and I don't think I can finish it all.. The other day I decide to cook this as my brother would be home for dinner.

Usage :
Super easy, just boil the rice cakes, add the sauce and stir!

Taste:
It's really nice but I think I had too much water and rice cake. :D

Will I purchase it again? Yes I would probably purchase it again!

Review : Clothes Folding Board

Item : Clothes Folding Board
Price : $6.50 not including postage.

Product Review :
I've seen this product many times but never though of purchasing it as it looks bulky and it wasn't cheap. When I saw that it's available for only $6.60 I decide to purchase it.

Application :
Easy to use! They include an instruction sheet with the board so that you can follow the instruction to fold all types of clothes. Tops, Dress, Long Pants and Long Sleeve Tops!

Colour :
Didn't get to choose the colour, but it's least of my concern cause I am not displaying it haha just take out to use when I need to fold clothes..

Extra detail :
Folding clothes becomes easier and the thing that I like most is that now my cupboard looks a little bit neater! I have many clothes with different cutting and no matter how I fold them, they always end up different size, making the clothes pile really ugly. With this folding board my clothes dun topple so easily when I put them in a stack anymore and because it's neater it's quite easy to spot the different clothes too!

Love it!

Review : La Riche Directions Semi Permanent Hair Dye Rose Red

Price : $9 only! (CNY Promo, if I'm not wrong it's still on-going!)

Service Review:
The items were sent out timely and nicely bubble wrapped. I bought 3 tubs of hair dye they only gave me 1 pair of plastic gloves.

Product Review :

Application :
Fairly easy, I put on my gloves and grab some from the tub and just smear it all over my bleached hair. The only issue I had was after I washed out I realise the colour stained the back of my neck, parts of my forehead, all my fingers, a hair brush, 3 towels and my bathroom turned pink!

Colour :
I love it! It's pinkish kind of red and the brightness is just right. I am also happy that my hair didn't look orange. Phew..

Smell / Effect :
No smell, or not much smell. Effect is not bad it's been a week plus and the red is still in my hair. Some people claims that it's conditioning but I personally feels that it feels normal? Just not too drying like some of those hair dye packs that contains bleach in it?

Extra detail : If possible get someone to help you with application and maybe wash off too cause it's really messy imo. Maybe I just dun have skill to dye my own hair, I would probably try to get help when I use the tub of Dark Turnip that I bought. :D

The additional sad story:

Last December I tried this hair dye (in violet) without bleaching my hair and the result was my previous salon dyed brown hair got even darker, almost close to black. The saddest thing is that I bought it from an instashop at $26.90! Super overpriced and I didn't know it cause the seller didn't state the brand and yes the seller is quite a popular seller on instagram. *heartbreak*

Do you like my Red Hair? Would give this a try?

Review : Dodo Liquid Lipstick, Dodo Eyeshadow and Dodo Pan Cheek

Items :
Dodo liquid lipstick shade 203
Dodo miss brown eyeshadow MB710
Dodo pan cheek PC23

Price : All 3 dodo products only cost $13 from TokyuHands (Westgate).

Dodo is a Japanese Brand. Didn't see them in Singapore for quite sometime so when I saw that they were on sale I decide to get them to try. :D

Product Review :
As there are 3 items I will try to keep it short.

Application / Colour :

Lipstick : It's somewhat like lip gloss, easy to use. Just twist the bottom and the liquid will come out from the top. Colour is light and with a shimmer. Texture is thick like a usual gloss & I have a love hate relationship with lip glosses. Love it cause it makes my lips pouty and sweet looking, hate it cause it's usually feels kinda like a layer on my lips?

Eyeshadow : Would suggest to use your own brush cause the brush given is not that good. Colours are shimmery/glittery. Colours in pan are different when applied, refer to photos of swatches (with flash and without flash). Kinda regret getting this colour, should have gotten the purple/pink one instead.

Blush : Easy application but have to be light handled unless you want to look like you are going for some show. Colour is very pigmented so a little drab and blend it out for a more natural blush.

Removal :
Easy to remove using makeup remover but the glitters for the eyeshadow kinda stuck to me for a while.

Extra detail : Do take note that expiry is in Dec this year.

Overall it's okay to purchase these to play around for a while cause it's quite cheap. My eyeliner from another brand cost more than these 3 items combined!

Review : Gatsby EX Hi-Bleach (Hair Bleach)

Item : Gatsby EX Hi-Bleach
Price : $8.95 (NTUC promo) usual ard $11.

Product Review :
I have tried many diy hair dyes but this is the first time I tried bleaching my hair on my own.

Application :
Fairly easy but I think I should have used 2 boxes instead of 1. After mixing everything just apply on dry hair and wait. Rinse, wash with shampoo, followed by conditioner.

Colour :
Didn't reach the lightness that I want as I don't dare to leave the bleach any longer. Heard that if put for too long duration, hair will break very easily. Tone is yellow so I will be using a white toner to remove the yellow tone soon!

Smell :
Strong but bearable (rememeber to open windows so that it's well ventilated)

Extra detail : Ensure that you buy enough hair dye. eg should hair length usually need around 2 boxes, unless you are doing dip dying.

It's my first time bleaching on my own, though the effect is not exactly what I want but it's still acceptable. Hair looks really dry so I will probably also need to do some treatment at home too. ♡

Review : Electronic / Digital Kitchen Scale (Weighing Scale)

Item: Digital Kitchen Scale
Price: S$9.90

Service Review: Super fast delivery! I received it the next morning!

Product Review: Scale comes in a box and comes with 2 batteries.

Usage: 1 button switch on, simple and easy.

Extra detail: There are a few designs and I choose this as it can measure to 0.5g where most other designs measure to 1g. The only downside is that it can only measure up to 3kg but it's okay as I usually do not need to weigh more than that, any item more than 3kg I have a few other scales at home for that. :D

This is good for those who are baking or those selling small items online and need it to weigh parcel! :)

Review : White Light Teeth Whitening Kit

Item: White Light Teeth Whitening Kit
Price : I bought it from an instashop for S$18!
(You can purchase it at the above link for more than 50% off!)

Product Review: Kit comes with 1 tray (top and bottom), 1 light tool, batteries for the light tool and 2 tubes of gel.

Application: Is really simple just need to put gel on the tray, put it on your teeth and put the white light on. Put for 10 minutes, take it off and rinse your mouth to get rid of gel residue.

Tip! Take the tray off when you are at the basin because there will be lots of saliva and it will be really messy if you take it off elsewhere like middle of your room or something!

Point to note: Effect takes many application to come in and doesn't last forever, do not expect instant obvious results or for the whitening to be forever! Avoid teeth staining stuffs like tea, coffee, soda.

Extra detail: Jaws may feel tired after a while. Try not to put on for too long (more than 15mins) especially for those with sensitive gums. Once I put for more than 15mins and my gums went red, it subside after a while.

Will I recommend it? I would say yes if you are open to try anything but if guranteed results are what you're after then I would suggest a visit to the dentist for more expensive procedures would be more suitable.

Review : The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Pastel Cushion Blusher in PINK

Item: The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Pastel Cushion Blusher in PINK
Price: S$7 (paid extra for Pink)

Service Review: Considered fast delivery as I made my purchase on Christmas eve 24th Dec and received on 27th Dec morning. Items are bubble wrapped.

Product Review: Blusher comes in a cute container and with a pretty little puff.

Colour: Pink is really very light/sheer, on my fair skin it almost blends in and couldn't be seen. Layered 4 thick layers just to take a photo for this post.

Application: Colour doesn't really show using the little puff. May work better using a brush or fingers but will need many layers to get the colour to come out. Works for you if you are usually heavy handed or if you are going for a natural look and don't mind spending some time blending and layering till you get the colour to show.

Extra detail: It's not very cheap as I paid a bit extra to get Pink one but end up it didn't really suit me. Maybe a darker colour would be more suitable but even then I'm sceptical after reading more reviews online. It seems that colours in this range are just not that pigmented.

Overall a bit disappointed as I had high hopes for this product.

Review : Mr. Home Star Mold Remover by LG Household and Health Care

Item: Mr. Home Star Mold Remover by LG Household and Health Care
Price: S$4.99 for 1 tube not including shipping

Service Review:
Quick Delivery, bought with a few other items and it's here in a couple of days. Items are also carefully packed.

Product Review:
Application: Super Easy! It came with a applicator attached to the tube so it's really easy to dispense/apply on the affected area.

Things to note: Make sure the area you want to apply the gel is dry (water will dilute the gel and it wouldn't be as effective). Apply and leave it on for a while and you will see it disappear, for tougher ones leave the gel overnight or do a few rounds of application. To add on, do spam lots of product instead of just a thin layer as it loses it's effect when dried up.

Effect: This product is awesome! It helped me get rid of mold that's on the silicon area in my bathroom. As shown in the after and before photo (this is the basin area in the other toilet). I apply a lot cause I believe a bit sure not enough for my many many years of mold but within 45mins like that most of it gone!

Colour/Smell: The gel is clear so have to let family members know when you apply it cause it's not obvious and they may wash it off unknowingly. The only downside is the slight pungent smell but the smell goes away after you've washed it off so it's not that bad.

Would I buy it again: Yes I would! I had another model remover product I tried it in my bathroom and it didn't work cause it's liquid it doesn't stay on the wall/silicon. This gel stays on the silicon and does it job so yes I will get it again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for mold remover. :)

Review : The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick 13. Pinky Brown and 11. Lovely Pink

Item: The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick
Price: $11.99 for 2 Lipstick with express shipping

Service review: Super fast delivery! Ordered on 11th December, received on 13th December morning!

Product review: Affordable and natural looking lipstick colour.
I ordered #13 Pinky Brown and #11 Lovely Pink.

Colour: Light, natural looking with a slight shimmery look so you can even skip lip gloss if lip gloss is not your thing. :D

Application: Smooth and fuss free.

Stay-On Power: Not very good but that happens to all my lipsticks cause I can't stop eating/drinking stuffs. :P

Extra detail: It's very cheap as compared to retail shops in Singapore so I would say it's a good buy. At the moment as I'm typing this entry, the shop I bought these lippies from is having a 1 for 1, at only S$9.50 with free normal post! I read reviews that normal post takes a long time to be delivered so I would recommend paying a little extra for tracking service and also shorter waiting time! :)

Review: Clio Pencil Eyeliner Kill Black in Kill Black

Item : CLIO Pencil Eyeliner Kill black in Kill Black
Price : SGD12.80 including Local Normal Postage.

Service review:
Ordered thru Qoo10 on 2nd Jan, received on 8th Jan.

Packing is good as I only ordered 1 eyeliner and it came in a cardboard box! Local normal post took quite a while and I was worried that it went missing but thankfully it arrived. Tried it immediately! :P

Product Review:

Colour: Not as intense as liquid liner.

Application: Considered smooth and fuss free but since colour is not that intense I had to draw over to get the look I want.

Smudge-level: On my hand it stays on very well but unfortunately not so well on my oily eyelids. I looked like a mini Panda within a few hours.

Ease of removal: Not that good. My usual makeup remover from The Face Shop didn't manage to remove everything.

Extra detail: Probably one of the redeeming thing is the mini sharpener at the end of the eyeliner. Many auto pencil liners doesn't comes with that and you have rub against paper to make it sharp so this feature is good imo.

Guess I have to continue searching for the perfect eyeliner! Anything you swear-by to recommend? :D

Flea / Bazaar Markets in Singapore (updated 28th December 2014)

Fleas are everywhere nowadays, years back flea are not that common but now they are more common than pasa malam (Night Market)! Some weekends there are more than 5 fleas on-going island wide!

The following are fleas that I've experienced in the past few years.
Hope this information here will help you make your choice if you intend to book a flea booth. :)

Sentosa Boardwalk (TGIF Bazaar)
December 2014
Crowd : Some crowd in the afternoon and evening
1 table with table cloth, 1 chair, 1 set of lighting, in a tent.
Many additional items available for rent from organiser if you need.

The weather is really bad these few weeks, for both days that I was there it rained almost immediately once I set up my booth! When it rains, the rain gets into the booth and you need to pay approx $6-$8 per day to rent canvas sheets so that the rain doesn't comes into the booth.

You need to have really awesome deals to grab eyeballs of passerbys too! Entry to Sentosa is free on weekends so there are quite a lot of people entering and exiting Sentosa, these crowd are usually "on a mission" spend time in Sentosa! So you need to have good deals and loud signs to grab their eyeballs if not they will just walk away without taking a look.

Saturday I was at Booth 43 which is really hidden and not very convenient. The travelators are on a sloop which means even if the passing crowd sees your booth they would need to make their way down to check out your items and most people are just too lazy for that.

Sunday I was placed at Booth 29. This spot is so much better and I could easily get crowd to check out my booth as I was clearing items. I just need to stand outside of my booth with a neon sign and many people show interest and walked towards my booth. :D Well at least before it started raining heavily.

Overall it's a great experience there as there are still some crowd (some tourist, some students on holiday and some domestic helpers.) Best items to sell there are those for tourist or people coming to sightsee, enjoy holidays, stuffs for outdoor entertainment etc.

F1 Pit / Pit Building Level 3 (By Good Citizens SG)
December 2014
Crowd : Mostly other Vendors and some crowd in the afternoon.
1 table 2 chairs, air conditioned but still warm.

It's a rather huge scale flea with 210 booths! Booked 2 booths as I was hoping to clear more items. Aircon didn't seem strong enough to cater for so many booths though cause it's still warm. :( It's walking distance from MRT but it seems that not many people know how to come over here or maybe it's the bad weather so crowd was not as good as I hoped it would be. My customers were mostly customer from my instashop and some of the vendors came over to check us out too. I personally went around and got a few items myself too. :P

Not good to walk around in the night time cause the lightings are not that good. During noon time I could see more items but a little crowded so I didn't manage to get much items. I guess too many booths may not be a good thing. :(

Singapore Polytechnic (By For Flea Sake)
November 2014
Crowd : Super crowded as it's in front of lecture theatre and next to canteen.
Sheltered with 1 table and 2 chairs, was informed that it's air conditioned place but it's not.

As all shoppers are students they don't have much spending power but the exposure is good if you have an online shop and have namecards to let them bring back or something. Unique and customisable items are great here cause they are noticed to have the most crowd. :D

Jcube Level 5 (By Blogshop Asia)
September 2014
Crowd : Almost non existence.
Semi Sheltered, 1 table and 1 Chair.
Rules : Usual rules, plus additional rule that items cannot be displayed like "pasa malam" style.

Was promised A3 metal signages to be put up at the entrances, A1 posters displayed at JCube lift lobbies, end up none of these were found. Was informed that there were happening events for the flea, but found out later in the day that all the events were happening at other levels instead of the bazaar location. Really disappointed with the whole event and most vendors request for refund as there was seriously no crowd.

I was lucky to get the booth closest to the escalator. 1 month before the event, I started promoting the flea event, enticing customers to visit with clearance stocks below cost price and lots of freebies. The whole month of promoting the event paid off and thanks to all my customers who dropby if not my stall would probably end up like all the other stalls with zero sales.

Before the September bazaar I booked 2 more events for November and December, the organisers finally decide to cancel the whole event on 2nd October. I recieve the refund a month later, in November.

Bugis Cube Level 1 (By Blogshop Asia)
September 2014
Crowd : Almost non existence.
Sheltered, 1 Table and 1 Chair.
Rules : Usual rules

Was given 1 free booth as compensation so I took it and got another booth for an extra day for $30 (which is my mistake). The building is empty, approximate 7 shops were open on that weekend in the whole mall. Yes I went to walk around the whole mall to check out the place.

Mall is empty and even though it's near a bus stop most of the booths cannot be seen by public at all. In total there were around 9 booths, 4 booths were outside and only 2 opened from afternoon and the other 2 only opened in the evening so it's absolutely not obvious that there is a flea happening! Didn't understand how could the organisers place booths outside but allow the vendors to only open in the evening. Those vendors who were placed inside the mall were there since morning and was practically swatting flies.

Chua Chu Kang Lot 1 (By What The FLEA!)
February 2012
Crowd : Youths and Families
Sheltered corridor facing CCK MRT Station

This Flea was the first flea for Lot 1, instead of tables and chairs they only provide a small area for us and we placed our own cloth on the floor. This is a real flea market as we were allowed to bring second hand and brand new items. I was clearing stock and also brought some items that I don't use for sale. Love it because the crowds were mainly students who just ended their CCAs or remedial lessons, families out for meals or shopping with their kids.

Unfortunately now they only have flea at Level 5, and only preloved items were allowed.

Gek Poh Ville CC
2013
Crowd : Grandparents and some students
Sheltered, 1 huge table and 2 chairs

As there's event so there's lots of people but most of them are there for the event and not really to shop. Items for sale it's better to be more for kids/aunties as there's not many youths there. As it's near to HDB blocks if flyers were given out earlier there should be more customers. :)

Jurong Point Shopping Centre (By For Flea Sake)
November 2013
Crowd : Lots of people (Domestic Helpers, Students, Families)
Sheltered, 1 table and 2 chairs

This is one of the most successful flea I've done and I'm hoping that they will open another one this Christmas so I can clear more stocks! Closing down my shop soon so would really appreciate if they can open another flea these 2 months. Quite a huge scale event and all booths were in a tent. Jurong Point staffs even gave us handheld fans because it was really hot that day. It's near MRT, bus interchange and a mall so the crowd is really good. As it's more accessible I had customers who came down all the way from the east side as well! :) My favourite place for Flea so far!

Bishan Active Park (By fashionbizarre)
June 2010
Crowd : Almost non existence.

My customers were mostly other vendors and customers who received email blast. Weather is really hot and place is not that accessible.
