FRANKENWEENIE

 Saw the above trailer sometime back when I was at the theaters for TED I think.

If your internet is so crappy that you can't spend 2 mins watching the trailer, here's a short Synopsis on Disney's new movie, Frankenweenie. It's about a boy who loved his dog so much that when it died, he used science to bring it back to life. Naturally this unnatural phenomenon will cause some issues and what will they be? Watch the movie to find out! :)

It's just another heartwarming movie you might say, but what interest me is that this movie is filmed in black and white, using stop-motion animated technique and then rendered in 3D.
Eh. I don't really know how to explain stop-motion. It's like making an object, look like it's moving on it's own?


Anyway back to the story, so what lengths will you go to keep your favourite pet by your side forever? Nothing. Call me heartless, but unless I'm guaranteed it's happiness I don't think I would do anything just to bring it back to life.


I don't have a pet right now, always feel like I'm not responsible enough to keep any. Can't even take good care of myself so I don't think I want the pet to suffer with me. Having a pet is a commitment, if you can't spend time with them and take care of their well being of all aspects (physical, emotional) please don't keep one!

When I was in primary school, my family had 2 chickens which we kept in the kitchen, inside a cage. Kept them since they were little yellow chicks. When we moved house, they were released into the little forest area behind the old flat.

Then when I was in secondary school, I saved up to buy a hamster. One day I brought it to school and my classmate told me it's sick, she offer to take it home to help me take care of it. Then I don't know if it was dead or lost somehow. Kinda regret letting her take it but I don't even know if it's a girl or boy and I felt like I can't care for it well (too active in CCA, no time to play with it). :'( I will always remember it's name though. Since this incident I've cancel all thoughts of having a pet because I know I'm not suitable for a pet. 我不配。

3 Movies in August. :D

I haven't been blogging properly for a long while.. :p
Feels so bad for neglecting my blog.

So those of you not following me on Twitter or Facebook..
Yes, my tummy is growing and not due to over-eating okay!!

 

I'm mostly at home now due to feeling faint, tummyaches, bodyaches, and what's nots.

On the rare occasions that I have to be away from the comfort of my home, I've to squeeze with loads of people and avoid being knocked every other min. :(

Honestly, no one truly knows how it feels to be pregnant until you've experience it yourself! Of cause so far it's not just avoiding knocks, I do often get people giving up their seats to me and it really warms my heart whenever I'm being offered a seat. Makes me feel there are still nice and considerate people around after all. :)

Bah. I've went out of topic again. :D

So the title is 3 Movies in August.

So for the past many months, Defector and I didn't have much time for movies. Busy moving room, moving house, customary wedding, wedding dinner, in-out of hospital, celebrations, courses, blah blah blah...

This month we finally found time and good movies to watch! :D

First Movie: Magic Mike

This is for the ladies! Lots of eye candy! Heh.

Went in to see Matt Bomer (White Collar) and found Channing Tatum quite cute too. heh.

Not for the shy though. Blushed red from the start. :p

Second Movie: The Bourne Legacy

For the action! I've watched all 3 Bourne movies, of cause I have to watch this one too! With or without Matt Damon. :P Though some say it's a little draggy but I think it's just alright. Watch all 4 together and you should get the full story..

Third Movie: The Expendables 2

For the Cast! All the action stars in this one is worth the ticket. hahas. Brings back memories of those shows you watch when you're young.. If you're looking for a story with a really good and mind engaging plot, I wouldn't suggest this though. This is really another movie you just go in, seat back to enjoy all the action and explosion..

It's super busy June for me..

First Sunday of June, I had a lil bazaar stall at Bishan Active Park.
Sales was terrible. :( But my friends soon appear to cheer me on. :D
Then I went out with Shaxiaomei, met up with AuntSerene & DaddyPhua for "family" dinner. :)

Interesting Fact: I don't buy dolls for myself. All dolls are either gifts from others or caught by myself. :D



19 June (Saturday) I decide to put try this sample foundation thingy which I got as a GWP from some local magazine. I think it's HerWorld June's issue if I'm not wrong.. I think it makes me look a little pale. :( The bakery aunty thought I'm from Vietnam. Vietnam girls are pretty. ^_^



Met Shaxiaomei after work for dinner. We at some combo meal thingy at AMK's Pepperlunch. First time feeling full from pepperlunch. :p

Since we had dinner early, we had spare time.. so.. We went to look for entertainment!
Decide to catch Toy Story 3 in 3D! woo hoo~~


Movie's great! It's so funny that I actually laugh quite loudly. :p Teared near the ending.. Totally worth the price and I haven pay for my tickets yet!! -.-' Sis, give me your acc number??

After movie, we decide to hang around in the arcade for a while..

Then.. we did the unthinkable... We actually took neoprints!! lol.
Since it's only $3, we played with it loh. Super funny cause there's no display screen for us to see (the screen spolit), so we used our "skill" and "experience"to navigate ourselves.. One of the shot was taken when sis pull me over and I nearly fall down..



While waiting for the neoprint to be printed out, I went to insert a $1 coin into one of those doll catching machines. Somehow by luck I manage to catch the doll. -.-' This suprised a couple who was watching nearby and was commenting that it's very hard to catch the doll.. lol.



Poor hubby been working the whole day yet I dragged him to camwhore. :p

17 Again...

Finally utilized my 1 for 1 Birthday movie ticket to watch 17 Again!
I know the movie's been out so so so so so long... It was out even before I turned 21, alright, my birthday was just a week ago.. I know.. but you get my drift.. right? Right??

Alright, now let's start with why did I catch the movie so late...

I knew that Zac boy from HSM (High School Musical) is in it and I thought it's just gonna be another one of those shows that is made specially for some people with poor acting but looks good on screen and yada yada yada.. Just another regular love story.. blah blah blah.. okay, here comes the main point.. In short.. I thought it would be a BORING movie..


So if I thought it's a boring movie why did I still catch it?

1. There isn't many nice movies left to watch!
(Recently watched Sniper, DMC, L.O.V.E & Shinjuku Incident)

2. I have a free 1 for 1 movie voucher for me to use until the end of the month.

3. After reading some reviews on the movie I decide it might not be as bad as I first thought it would be..

4. I seldom wake up so early and since I'm up early, I might as well travel down to Jurong Point to meet hubby to watch movie loh..

5. When I tell hubby I'm thinking of watching it, he did not say "ee.., don't want lah..."
hahas. I'm good girlfriend right.. I see his reaction first before I buy the tickets leh.. :p



So with the above 5 reasons, we went to catch the movie at Jurong point this morning..


What do I think after watching...

It's really worth it!!!
Zac totally act like he's a old man in a young man's body! lol.

The movie is quite touching, the acting is good (It's so good that I cried till my jacket sleeves + hubby's shirt sleeves got wet.) Lots of funny scenes which I didn't really expect. So overall, lots of laughter and tears.

I think I gave it 4 out of 5 bags of popcorns in my GV member review. :)

For my normal fringe I'll need a fringe cut soon.. But if it's side swept, means I wouldn't be cutting it loh.. I know. I so mafan troublesome lah..

Been watching lots of movies lately..
Watched Shinjuku Incident & Detroit Metal City with hubby before he flew and L.O.V.E with my dearest Shaxiaomei..


Shinjuku Incident is the one with Jackie Chan acting as "bad guy".
NC16 due to some gore scenes. And most parts of the show is in Japanese! -.-''
I'm not a fan of blood and gory scenes but I still quite enjoy the show. It's interesting to see Jackie Chan acting as a "bad guy", committing crimes and stuffs.


Detroit Metal City rocks! Ken'ichi Matsuyama rocks in this show. Playing both characters so well, he is one of the best actors I've ever seen. Those who've watched him in the Death Note Series and "L Change the world" might want to catch DMC. His ability to have many different expressions, makes you laugh. It's another NC16 movie. Hubby was shocked by the lyrics of the songs cause he didn't know it's that vulgar. He enjoyed the movie. I think he laugh more than me loh! :p


L.O.V.E is combination of four short stories. So you're like watching 4 short movies for the price of one! Out of the 4 stories the ones I liked best is the first one and the last one. First one was so touching that I kept tearing lah. The second and third one didn't really left much impression on me, I couldn't even remember what happened. -.-'' The last one is very very very comical and of cause plus the fact that the 7 bang + Prince is so handsome! Argh.. I must have been brainwashed by ShaXiaoMei!!!
