Free set of skincare products for sensitive skin.

Recently got this set of Hada Labo skincare product for free, with free posting too! :D

Read on to find out how you can get it too! :)

SampleStore recently relaunched with a super cute packaging.

Other than looking sweet, the new packaging is a tough material which can withstand the weight of heavy samples and also not tear when comes in contact with water. :)

The previous packaging is paper material (normal envelope) so if it rains when the postman is doing their rounds, it can get wet and tear..

Anyway... Lots of people says it looks like a pack of gummies (candies) and my husband who opened the letterbox thought someone send me a present. Which is quite true because it's free so yes it's a present.. but it's a present that I choose! heh heh..

Nicely Bubble Wrapped! :)

Even better news.. the sample size have Increased!
It used to be just 1 sachet, now it's either in small bottles or a few sachets!
Can last for 1-2weeks! So you can really tell if the product is really working for you!
Awesome right? :D

This 4 piece set is fully sponsored!
Don't even need to pay for shipping at all!
Cleanser, Make Up Remover, Toner, Moisturizer.

The sample didn't come in English so I had to stick my own labels.. :P

Am going to give it a try very soons!
Now testing another product so dun want to suddenly stop. :)
Will update with review! :D

So do you want to get a set of these send to your letterbox?

Follow these 3 simple steps:

1. Click on this link to create an account : LINK

2. On the left frame, click on Sponsored Samples.

Nicole by Opi : Ladies in the Limelight & Make Mine Lime

When I saw that there was a sale at Qoo10 for nail polishes, I knew I was going to purchase at least 1-2 bottles. :P

Since most of the colours that I want are sold out, I decide to get 2 colours that I would seldom try. :P This was easy with the help of my nail polish display rack. hahas. It's that obvious that I'm not a huge fan of yellows colour. :P

Overall a good experience. Delivery is fast. Item came with 2 layers of bubblewrap.
Product is a little thin but colours does show well in 3 coats. I tried it immediately after receiving, with Opi's servin up Sparkle on top and it's gorgeous.

Poshe Basecoat, Seche Vite fast dry top coat, Ladies in the Limelight, Make Mine Lime, Opi Servin' Up Sparkle.

My reward for doing Skinfood review. :D

Not only did I get to try out the product before most people..
I also got this awesome special pack..

A Black Sugar Scrub Foam 50g and another 30ml of the Black Sugar Perfect first Serum!
Awesome or what? :D

Only wished they could give us more of the cotton pad though, other than that, it's awesome awesome awesome.. Thank you Skinfood! :D

The Black Sugar Scrub Foam is an interesting product. When you squeeze out from the tube there's rough bits, once you latter it, it becomes smooth like a foam cleanser. It doesn't smell as sweet as other products but it's a really interested cleanser! I thought a scrub would be very rough and strip my combi skin of moisture but it doesn't! There's no tight feeling after using and my face actually does feel smoother!

Now I got another cleanser to choose from! woo hoo~

Shouldn't facials/spas be stress free?

Recently I received a complimentary facial at a Boutique Spa and the sales staffs were not pushy at all! Which prompts me to write this entry. :D

I have tried facials in more than 10 places in the past years and most of them left me with bad impression or made me felt stressful. :( So today I'm going to list some things that I really dislike about these spas/salons. (In no particular order.)

1. Hard selling in private room
After facial, before payment, usually a separate sale staff would corner you to a small, private room and try to sell you everything and anything.. Makes you feel like if you don't purchase anything you wouldn't be able to get out.. Hate it!!

2. Hard selling by attacking your confidence / or terrorizing you.
Your skin is really too dry and oily!
Your pore are too huge for someone your age.
Your winkles/laugh line are too deep already.
Your tires (fats around waist) are really unsightly and you look like pregnant.
You are so young should not look like this.
How can you not treat yourself better?
Your blackheads makes you look dirty with rough skin.
Your scalp is in really bad condition, if you don't anything about it very soon you will have balding problem.
After you give birth your face/body/hair condition will worsen and you should have started maintenance long ago.
You really drop a lot of hair than normal people.
Your skin is in really bad condition and will be worse.

Ever heard any of these? I know my condition, thank you very much, but to constantly use it attack me because you want to sell me things? erm, No.

3. Hard to make appointment
Major turn offs when you can't book appointment at all when you are a member/package holder. Either no one is manning the phone lines/front desk or they are fully booked for weeks or they don't have enough staff on the day that you want.

4. Selling "add ons" during treatments.
During facial, they ask you to add on an extra "treatment" or ampule or other random crap because "your skin needs it". Especially those asking you to add ampule or extra service so that your skin doesn't look too red after extractions. I call it bullshit! If your facial is good it should include all the necessary things, why should I top up for things that technically should be inside? This add on is usually for those cheaper facial places, usually more expensive facials will include everything so your treatment is not interrupted by people stressing you to purchase things.

5. Black face / Attitude (Poor service)
Then there are those when you decline an additional item or service, they start giving you black faces and poor service. Or those who serve you according to your dressing/brands that you carry on you.

6. Overly friendly sales staffs acting like they are your new best friend after seeing you for the first time.
Oh come on. This is awkward, I'm okay with friendly but I'm not okay with the fake kind of friendly.. We are faced with so many fake people to entertain in life, after spending money at your company you send more fake people for us to entertain? You okay anot?

7. Over promise and blame you for bad/no results.
Then there's those who promise you that your condition would be better with their service/product and when the result doesn't shows they blame you, make you think it's your skin issue, your fault for not using the product properly and ask you to buy more product or upgrade the services.

8. Hard selling by making reference to your life/judging you.
Asking you to pamper yourself because you're still studying/started working/getting married/pregnant/* (insert any event in your life).
Or asking you to purchase and share a package with your mother if you really love her cause she does a lot for you.
If you're carrying a branded bag, they would make reference to your bag saying how expensive it is and how badly you are treating your skin, asking you not to be stingy to your skin..
If you are married/attached, they would ask you to get your husband/boyfriend to purchase it for you if he really loves/dotes on you.
If your work includes interaction with customers/clients face to face, they would say you should put in more effort with your appearance.

Do you find any of these familiar?
Do you have any issue/place that you want to rant about?

New Product Testing : Black Sugar Perfect First Serum

Recently I was given a chance to test/review a sample of a new product which is launching soon.
Collected it from an outlet that is closest to my current place.. This is a major plus for me cause I can't travel far with a baby just to grab a sample to try. :p Well not now anyway.. maybe when she can walk on her own or something.... :P

The sample was placed in a huge brown envelope. I was already very excited to collect the sample, seeing that it looks like a "mission" makes me even more excited!

The watch is used to cover my personal details on the envelope. :D

It's one of my favourite skincare brands! Skin Food! :D
Favourite is definitely their Rice mask!❤ and Black sesame mask! ❤

My sample comes with a brochure.
Yes the tagline for this product is "For incredibly smooth skin at every angle".

Since giving birth to my Winnie, I am very envious of her skin.. It's so smooth that I can't stop kissing it. lalala~

My hormones-battled skin on the other hand looks like orange skin. :(
Next to loosing the extra tire around my waist, I wish for better, smoother skin! When I read the tagline, I knew it's a product I have to try!

My sample came with 2 pieces of special cotton pad which the beauty consultant mentioned that there's 2 side to it for 2 uses.

The retail sized Serum comes with a pack of special cotton pads.

Instructions on how to use the special cotton pad. :)

After normal cleaning:
1. Pour Serum into the special cotton pad.
2. Use the "patterned" side to wipe off dead skin cells and impurities.
3. Use the "smooth" side to absorb remaining serum by patting your skin
4. Follow up with your usual skincare~

The "rough" or "patterned" side is for wiping the face.

The normal smooth side for patting, absorbing the serum~

My No. 1 Original Black Sugar Perfect First Serum sample and a cotton pad.
I was busting from excitement while I take this photo.. Can't wait to try it! :D

Smell : Pour out a little on the cotton pad and am captivated by the awesome sweet smell.
I'm in love with the product already! :D

Most of the serum I come across have a "thick lotion" feel but this one feels more like a toner.

First thought after wiping my face with the cotton pad : My face actually does feels cleaner!
But I'm not sure if it's due to the slight cooling feeling from the lotion or does it really removes dead skin cells from my face..

Pardon the lousy photo, taken just before I'm go to bed. :P
I think I have a bit of water retention.. Fat cheeks!! *pouts*

The sample only came with 2 piece of cotton pad so I only managed to use twice with their cotton pad. The third time I used another brand's cotton pad which also has 2 sides. I used to think the cotton pad I was using was great but the one Skin Food gave is even better! Thicker and more "steady". heh. sorry for my lack of vocab.. :P

So the magic question.. Does my skin feels smoother?
Yes it does feels smoother, at least when I put on my moisturizer, it feels smoother? I don't think any product will seriously magically makes orange skin become porcelain after just a few uses.. Yes, it's smoother as compared to previously, before I use this product but there's still a lot more work for my skin to become better again..

On the side note, I do notice that my skin seems to have become a bit brighter though. :D

Will I buy this when it launches?
Maybe yes. Will continue to use this sample and see if the result is temporary, definitely consider to add it to my current skincare regime. :)

My review doesn't state ingredients and all those stuffs that you can find on brochures. Well because you can find them on brochures, I'm not going to repeat the same things which will be plastered everywhere else soon. :P I'm not a professional, so I can't tell you what ingredient is for what uses.. okay, also because I'm a lazy blogger.. :P

Have you tried this Black Sugar Perfect First Serum?
Would you give it a try after reading my review? :)

New Stalls/Shops at Jurong Point.

Remember sometime back I blogged about Malaysia Boleh! at Jurong Point (Singapore)?

Ok the post is almost 1 year ago.. but guess what?
2 of the restaurants I mentioned in the blog post has opened their outlets/stalls at Jurong Point!

Popeye at JP2 (Level 2/3).
Opened sometime in June and till now (almost 2 months) there's still a long queue outside their outlet everytime we pass by..
Got hubby to queue for takeaway the other day.. :P
Now I no longer have to travel too far just to have Popeye!

Yoshinoya in JP1 Kopitiam (Level 3).
Hubby says there used to be 1 Yoshinoya outlet in JP years back but I don't remember seeing it..
They have recently open a new stall at level 3 Kopitiam food court!
I've been craving for it since I spotted it when we were checking out another stall. :)
Will be getting hubby to pack it back for me again.

Play-kitchen in JP1 Kopitiam (Level 3)
This stall is opened by Ben Yeo, Local actor/host/author.
Their menu includes Hei-Bee Clams in Asian Flavours, Smoked duck breast with fresh veg in Thai sauce, Suckling Chicken Steak with Aglio Olio Spaghetti and Sambal Belachan Grill fish with Aglio Olio Spaghetti. I am quite excited about the hei-bee Clams and Sambal Belachan grill fish. Can't wait to try out when I'm free to have my meal at the foodcourt. Don't really like to eat packed pasta.

Liquid Skin next to JP1 Kopitiam (Level 3).
This shop space used to be for a massage place. It's kinda dark from the outside and I've never step in. Last week while walking around JP, I saw a poster for Eyebrow Threading and I immediately walk-in!
They were having promo and I had my eyebrows and upper-lip area threaded for only S$9.60 (including gst)! Finally a place there's nearby for some threading! No more excuse for messy brows!!!

Having a set of neat eyebrows can really change how a person look!
Comparison of different ways to neaten your brows.
Eyebrow threading (Before and After)

That's all for the new stalls/shops update.

Just realise this post is super wordy so I decide to add a cute photo of Winnie and me. :D

The irritating thing about dark hair colouring?
They don't usually show until the roots grows out. -.-
Before the roots comes out, the colours don't stand out at all.. now it's like such an eye sore.. argh!

What colours should I try for next year's CNY? 6 months to CNY (31st January 2014) and I'm thinking of colours for my hair! I'm also contemplating if I should do bangs for my hair again.. How? :P

Free Goodies : Black Mini

Last week, I received a pleasant surprise in my mailbox. :)

Tadah~

Black Mini is the smaller version of Black Box and it's free too! :)

Black Box / Black Mini  is a free subscription box where subscribers receive some samples in their mail or doorstep.

I really like that they give out little pouches. I use this to store bits of paper and notes. :D I prefer the full black ones, anyone with the full black piece wanna exchange with me? :D

In this Black Mini, it's Loreal EverSleek Shampoo and Conditioner.

It's quite a generous sample as usual samples are only in small sachets and good for 1-2 use depending on hair length. This tube could last many washes which is awesome because you can be more certain that the product is really worth to purchase or not.

I've been using this for a few days now. Hair is soft and feels kinda fluffy. It's fluffy whenever I use conditioner. So far no drama from my sensitive scalp yet *cross fingers* Let's hope it stays that way and I'll have a new shampoo that I can switch to.. :)

2 packets. seriously always never enough one.. :P
and that's her tiny foot there. haha

Bought this cute socks for Winnie but it's a little big. :(

Bought a bag of clothes from a local blogger..

Bellabox - September 2012

See all other month's Bellabox reviews here.

After last month's rant post, it's easy not to have much expectation for this box..

This month box is not that bad, but still not good enough to make me want to continue the subscription.

In this month's Box.
$10 superberry.me Voucher

Storyderm Silk Mask (1 Sheet)
This Collagen Silk Mask from Korea is for firming, moisturising and brightening. Seems like something I could use. Will try it out soon..

JF Skin Solutions Acne Relief Cleanser Bar (20g) For oily Skin
So thankful they finally give me something for oily skin, well I guess my combination skin can still give it a try, at least they didn't give me any product for dry skin this time! This product is suitable for both face and body.

L'Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Cellular shampoo 100ml
Though my hair's not very damaged, I believe I can still try this product. Smells nice, hopes it doesn't cause any issue to my sensitive scalp..

L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil (Nourishing Oil) 3ml For all hair types
This one smells good. Since it'll be used from mid to hair ends, I definitely can use this product without the fear of irritation to my sensitive scalp..

Savoir Faire Mini Lipstick 1.2g (407 Grace)
Makeup item! Me loves! The first product I tried immediately after opening the box. Though the shade is definitely not for me, I really like the sweet taste.. :)

Pink Mustache Necklace.
I didn't understand why there's a pink mustache necklace in a beauty box. After reading some reviews online it seems that this pink mustache is in support of Movember .  In case you're as clueless as me, Movember is a mustache growing charity event held annually, in the month of November, to raise funds and awareness for Men's health. Still doesn't have any link to beauty box, but oh well, since it's free.. I'm going to give it away to one of my customers. :P

Bella Box - JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER

Those who've followed my blog for a while will notice that I've totally stop blogging about my Bella Box.

I blogged about my first box in Feb, followed by March, April & May.
Then I just totally stop blogging about Bella Box.

2 Reasons.

1. I'm busy and lazy.
2. The disappointment I face every single month really puts off the mood.
Nil, zero, nothing, nah. Totally no mood to face this terrible choice I've made. Every month I just hope they will redeem themselves and no, there's just more disappointment each month. Anyway my subscription is finally going to end soon and I've set an reminder to cancel it before they deduct another payment (increase in payment some more!). Any kind souls willing to remind me in January to email them to cancel my subscription?

So I just received my October Bella Box and decide to 1 time blog about all the boxes (June to Oct) so at least those who've not signed up could have a look at what I've received and make a smarter choice.

Bella Box - June 2012

This box is considered quite good, because it has all the big brands eg Biotherm, Lancome, Shu Uemura and Kiehl's.
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate
(I'm quite wary of the word concentrate, yet to try out)
Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner
(I bought the huge bottle of this in 2011, cause it's a really good toner.)
Ralph Lauren Romance
(Not my type of fragrance..)
Biotherm White D-Tox BB Cream
(Their sunscreen is good, I'm currently using their cleanser, toner and moisturizer but BB Cream, erm.. I think they should stick to just skincare. :D)
Biotherm Lait Corporel Body Moisturizer
(It's okay I guess, not sticky but I'm not really the kind who would splurge on body moisturizer really.)
Lancôme Blanc Expert Derm-Crystal
Lancôme Génifique Youth Activator
(The names sound really powerful and erm doesn't really seem suitable for me? Okay, I will try this soon, after my little one is born k.. now I just dun have the guts to try...)
Shu Uemura Whitefficient Brightening Gentle Cleansing Oil
(Been wanting to try this but I've not really put enough makeup to try this. :P)

Bella Box - July 2012

The only thing that seems "worthy" is the SKII mini trial kit. oh and the pen that they gave us, I have some PINK ones without the word bellabox, anybody interested?
Jimmy Choo Parfum
(I'm not a huge fan of perfume. period.)
SK-II Cellumination Deep Surge EX
SK-II Cellumination Mask-In Lotion
SK-II Facial Treatment Essence
SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser

(Can't wait to try them soon!)
Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack
(Looks kinda cheem to use..)
Twistband Hair Ties
(Only 1 piece to try and the ends frays. Argh. otherwise it's not a bad product.)
L'EGERE Platinum Hologram Illuminating Hydro Cream Base
L'EGERE Healthy Facial Treatment Skin Conditioner
(Yes, my fear of creams and anything rich.. maybe if my skin is not so sensitive about rich stuffs I will try?)

Bella Box - August 2012

August's Bella Bag. The bag's quite cute but nah, it's too flimsy for all my stuffs. From August the number of items seem to drop significantly.
Enavose Probiotics Exfoliance Gommage(I don't know what's this and I don't dare to try Yet.)
philosophy hope in a jar oil free gel moisturizer
(Gel Moisturizer! Sounds promising, I might try it, I think.)
L’Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Youth Code Boosting Essence
(Okay, the youth code thing really makes me feel old, maybe it's really time to try these youth youth stuffs eh?)
China Glaze Nail Polish
(Why everyone get nice pastel colours and I get this hard to match neon Orange?) :(
I blogged about using it not too long ago.. This nail polish I've got seems a bit thicker than normal China Glaze..
Anna Sui Eye Shadow

(I got the swollen Eye colour. It's a rosy pink which is not easy to carry off. If it's not done well enough it may make you look like kena swollen eye. So anyway the pigment seems like a good try for blush, I might try it as blush instead given my lousy eye makeup skill..)

Bella Box - September 2012

Most Upsetting Box. There is practically nothing in this box and they actually charge people S$19.95 for this???
Vichy BI-WHITE MED Deep Corrective Whitening Lotion
(Not a huge fan of whitening products.)
Lifecella® Essence Sheet Mask
(I've too many sheet mask waiting for me to try)
Rimmel Volume Flash Eye Liner
(I don't dare to try on my eyes. Look at the manufacturing date! NOV 2009! Almost 3 years already leh! do you dare to try?)
Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift
(Great, another perfume...)
Celmonze Premium Facial Ampoules
(I don't know what this is and I don't dare to try.)

Bella Box - October 2012
Most Disappointing Box + Most not suitable for my nose, box.
October being their birthday month I was expecting something decent. The items barely filled half the box and they are all junk to me.
Guerlain Perfume.
(I don't fancy the smell, anybody collects small perfume vials? I have so many of these by now.)
NUXE Body Lotion for Dry Skin
(Strong smell which I didn't like and so didn't try it. I don't use product for dry skin cause it'll be too rich for my combi skin.)
NUXE Face and Body Cleansing Gel for Dry and Sensitive Skin.
(I have combination skin, I can't use product for dry skin so this is junk to me.)
NUXE Multi Usage Dry Oil
(I don't think what to think of this really, it has this smell that I don't like and wouldn't want to try.)
Biodrema Makeup Remover
(This makeup remover has this Ammonia smell? I really don't like the smell. Like science class? I don't know.. )

I don't understand, what's the point of us filling the form stating what kind of skin we have when you give us things that are not suitable for us to use??

Anyway September and October's box is really horrible. I've already decided to cancel my subscription but I should only cancel it in January because I signed up for the annual one. If I cancel early I don't get any box for the remaining few months nor any refund, so I have to cancel at the last month after they sent the last box and before they deduct fee for the next year! Please let me not forget to cancel! They don't do refunds and I don't want to pay for this kind of crap anymore! Makes me feel like a fool every month.

When I signed up for the box it was a little cheaper at S$15 instead of the current S$19.95 and I read somewhere that there will be at least 1 full retail size item in each box. But the past few months other than the nail polish and 1 piece of sheet mask, I doubt there's any actual full retail size item in my boxes, (not counting the almost expired eye liner!)

I actually blogged until 3+am for this post.
Yes, I'm really that pissed off that if I don't blog it out I wouldn't be able to sleep this weekend.

Now that I'm done ranting.. Nights everyone!
