Review : Gatsby EX Hi-Bleach (Hair Bleach)

Item : Gatsby EX Hi-Bleach
Price : $8.95 (NTUC promo) usual ard $11.

Product Review :
I have tried many diy hair dyes but this is the first time I tried bleaching my hair on my own.

Application :
Fairly easy but I think I should have used 2 boxes instead of 1. After mixing everything just apply on dry hair and wait. Rinse, wash with shampoo, followed by conditioner.

Colour :
Didn't reach the lightness that I want as I don't dare to leave the bleach any longer. Heard that if put for too long duration, hair will break very easily. Tone is yellow so I will be using a white toner to remove the yellow tone soon!

Smell :
Strong but bearable (rememeber to open windows so that it's well ventilated)

Extra detail : Ensure that you buy enough hair dye. eg should hair length usually need around 2 boxes, unless you are doing dip dying.

It's my first time bleaching on my own, though the effect is not exactly what I want but it's still acceptable. Hair looks really dry so I will probably also need to do some treatment at home too. ♡

Hi, how long was your hair when you bleached it and how many boxes do I need if my hair is shoulder length and a bit if thick?

@arynadira z. My hair was around collar length and I estimate would need 2 boxes so for shoulder length I guess you would need ard 2-3 boxes.

I actually just realized that you have mentioned that you need 2 boxes if your hair is shoulder length. 😅 Another quick question, what was the color of your hair before you bleached it? Was it virgin black hair or dyed hair? I'm planning on stripping off my red-brownish hair color that I have on my head right now to go somewhere ashy brown. I wonder if it's possible to achieve that with one application because I plan on dye-ing it with the Gatsby Aqua Silver color after bleaching it to tone down any brassiness color that I'll get from the bleaching.

Hi my hair is in 2 tones before I bleached it, top portion black and bottom portion brown.
If you have red in your hair would suggest to get or make hair toner to remove the redness. Usually something blue would even out the redness. This bleach would give an yellow tone. Aqua silver should also be bleach so not advisable to use one after another.
